I want to focus more on posting on forums and blogs to get traffic and link backs to my site. I sighed up on 7 forums in my theme of my website. I gave them all the same email but only 3 of them send a activation notice. Does anyone know what happed. The email address were copied and pasted the same email address. Whey did only a few contact me. Bu the way I checked my junk mail.
It has nothing to do with how many forums you signed up to. Probably just a technical problem. Forum sig links are pretty much worthless by the way.
I have a thread on sig links and the facts about them here. It may sway your decision. Definately posting in related forums with the site in your link will get you some click thrus. But as to your intial question, it will just be a technical fault and nothing else. Just email them. Try to use other marketing methods as well as sig links bud.
Did you check your spam emails? Maybe the spam filter is blocking the activation emails. I don't think forums is a good idea to get backlinks. Mainly because most of the forums are NoFollow. They're better for targeted traffic as you will see
sometimes forum sites dont always send out activation emails on time....i run a forum site and i get complaints sumtimes about this.... usually it happens with free based forum sites imo such as phpbb. also, if you are using a non-free email account,,,then that could cause delays....\ i find that when ppl sign up using free email accounts...they activation goes through right away,,,but when people use isp or work email accounts...then that causes a slow activation email , and frankly its the users problem with their own isp email.
forums can be great to drive traffic through sig links... but wont help much with pr... being active in a forum is a great idea...
If you spend 10 minutes making a handful of posts and only 3 people click over the course of the next year, is that worth it? Now if you joined an ad network (adwords?), and had 3 clicks, would the price of that be worth it? It all falls down to ROI, and for many, signatures are well worth the effort when compared to other methods of advertising. Q
