Joining an affiliate network as a manufacturer and retailer

My company is interested in expanding out marketing reach
and joining one or more affiliate neworks. But there are so
many out there, its tough to know what to start with. We would
prefer to have the affiliate network manage marketing and signing
    up new affiliates.

We plan on paying quite a decent commission per sale 10% to 20%
    (per sale).

The other hassle is our shopping cart.. How do carts typically
integrate into affiliate networks? We want to pay when a sale
    is complete. We use Zen-cart.

Any advice you can offer would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Sounds like you have a physical product as opposed to a digital product. If so, the top 4 affiliate networks are CJ, Linkshare, Google Affiliate Network and Shareasale. Shareasale is the most reasonable as far as fees go.

The way integration typically works is you place a pixel on the thank you page that comes up after the sale is made. The network you go with will give you instructions about how to do that.

Whatever network you go with, you'll still need to market and recruit, they don't do all that for you. Depending on the network they may offer specific services for a fee though, like featured program placement or email blasts to members.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
