Newbie here looking for some professional who could give some inputs / advice / suggestions. What I want to know is what do I need to start? How to know which affiliate programs to join? Is CJ better than Clickbank or there is better than both? Do I need a website? Anyone help me please.. I don't know what else to ask. Hope to see some guidelines here.
There are lots of threads here on DP that ask the same questions, so first off I'd recommend you spend considerable time on here just reading every thread you can get your eyes on. Secondly, how good a network is or how much better x is than y is almost always arguable. Some networks do not pay at all (scam sites), some pay slowly, and some pay quickly. In my signature, I have the three affiliate networks that are my favorites because they pay quickly and have nice and helpful affiliate managers in case you need assistance. Good luck starting out and making money.
I think most of big networks are fine so are many smaller networks. The key question for you to ask is - "what is that I want to promote?" and depending on this check out networks that fits most. Is it travel, electronics, ebooks, health, clothes, dating, etc. Also remember there are niches within most markets, e.g. health could be split into many smaller sectors, like weight loss, acne, hair loss, fitness, yoga etc. Once you have decided, then do some research on what is working and what is popular. Once your mind is clear what you want to do. It is very good idea to build your own site before applying to any network. e.g. you decided to promote weight loss products, then it just makes sense to create at least basic 20 page site or blog about weight loss, diets etc. Then you can start signing up to networks. Not only this will guarantee you a higher approval rates but also you will be already step ahead will be able to start promoting quicker. If you feel you need help on getting started, then you can look into MoreNiche (see my sig), as they provide lots of guides and support from affiliate managers, helping you to succeed faster.
If you have a blog or website, that is probably your best bet. Once you have one set up, you will be able to apply to affiliate networks where you can get the ads to place on your site...which in turn will make you some money!
