Both these guys dominated in the first round. Johnny Depp destroyed Samuel L. Jackson 6-0 and Denzel surprisingly beat Harrison Ford quite handly 7-2. Both are relatively young and have many great films under their belt. Johnny Depp has been nominated for an oscar three times but never won. He played strange off-beat character very very well. Maybe he has Tim Burton to thank for that. From 21 Jump Street to Capt. Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp has come a long way in a relatively short time. Denzel Washington has won two academy awards and he is great at portraying real-life characters. These are two completely different actors, both bringing something different to the table. Johnny Depp is the better actor. The diverse roles he had played over the years only proves it and he is nice to his fans to boot.
Denzel for me - I've not seen a movie of his I haven't liked. Classic in training day too "My N***a!"
Denzel Washington hands down easily for me for acting ability, inspirational roles and convincing portrayals - absolutely love his movies. Cant stand J Depp for some reason like his annoying character in Pirates of Carribean. But Depp has been good in some roles like Charlie and Choc Factory..........
well both are good but still johny has some edge over denzel due to many diverse roles played by him!!!!!!!!!
Really, i'd have thought Samuel L would have got some good votes. I'd go for Jonny Depp, but they are both different types of actors, both in different types of films.
I never wan to see one in a movie made for the other. Regardless, I prefer Depp style movies much more than Denzel.
