    No. He plays the same roles over and over.

    All his roles are silly characters, he should take on a serious role one of these days

    I feel like he has the ability to be a great actor - he definitely gets into the roles and has done a number of different roles. However he has been taking on similar silly roles for his last few films.

    Silly character but not same characteristic,, Willy Wonka, Jack Sparrow, Edward scissorhands, etc. it's so different. If you want to see his serious character, you must see when his young. I think he want to try new thing or find new atmosphere in acting now days.

    I wouldn't say all his roles are silly, such as Gilbert Grape, Donnie Brasco, George Jung (etc).

    I do think he is a talented actor and I enjoy that he likes playing these diverse characters.

    He is a treamendous actor. Although he plays silly rolls, I believe its hard to get into that character as many details have to be considered. Not anybody can pull it off and Johnny Depp is one of the best at it. Sadly he has not won an oscar.
