I can't believe he may be in office someday . Enjoy, and discuss =). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lyaMrS0hzk
These youtube videos make it very hard for me, usually, anyway, to see the total picture, so I usually give them a pass. In this instance, however, it seems pretty clear. The woman was legally on public property, was exercising free speech (and not preventing others from avoiding it if they wished), and had every right to say her mind's pleasure.
The double standards with the left-wingers never cease to amaze me. When Bill Clinton was in office he was well-known for simply pointing at someone in the crowd who was protesting or saying something not in agreement with him. The Secret Service would immediately escort the person out of the event. It happened hundreds of times and no one made an issue of it. I'm not a John McCain supporter, but he had nothing to do with this old gal being escorted off the premises. Based upon the biased nature of the video, we do not know what she was doing beyond just holding up a sign. The video does not tell the whole story. What does the fact that she is a librarian nave to do with anything? Does that give her some kind of special "innocence" status?
So, because Bill Clinton did it, it makes it ok for everyone to do, right? Wrong. Was just being descriptive in the title. I didn't know an "innocence status" was needed to peacefully protest in a public place.
Yes, because McCain is a horrible terrible person. Come on - let's be real. Obama and McCain are closer to each other that most people. Point out some issues rather than the noise surrounding the candidates. By the way - I am still undecided.
Exactly! We still do not know what the old lady was doing that got her kicked out. The video is obviously very biased. I wouldn't believe her side of the story. I would have liked to have seen interviews with bystanders. There is more to this than what the video shows.
Actually, we do know what the lady was doing that got her ousted. She was holding up the sign that said, "McCain = Bush." Two instances verify this. The first, plainclothesman, shows him telling her "Ma'am, I need you to remove the sign, please. I've asked you once already." The second, the policeman, responds to her question about the sign with: "you have two choice. You can keep the sign, and receive a ticket for trespass, or, you can remove the sign, stand in line and attend the event." I normally give this types of youtube videos a pass, for reasons I said. In this instance, it seems pretty clear cut that she was on public property, exercising free speech; and as long as she wasn't preventing others from avoiding her speech, she should be free to speak her mind.
Talking about Librarian did failin try to ban some books? http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/u...l?_r=3&hp&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
When I was working the Obama campaign, We removed all anti Obama signs and people from the rally, It did not make headlines due to the fact it is not news. Safety is the top priority and anti-Obama or anti-McCain people at such a function can cause tension to be at extreme levels and you can not have that at a political function such as a rally.
No, no news at all. Especially when his candidacy is based on a presumption of "inclusiveness," and a video proving your statement would be gold for anyone else" but the media - just not interesting to the left-wing media conspiracy." Of course, this McCain video is from youtube, anyone could easily trump the Obama camp by the same tactic, and any anti-Obama acolyte would reap mammoth political rewards for the "opposing side" as a result. You'll forgive me if your hearsay is trumped by a video proving the fact, particularly when you've displayed no particular concern so far with the truth and this election, in my experience; sorry. (How's that "Obama is the antichrist" speculation coming, Biz?)
The thread title is not accurate. The secret service asked her to leave. No where in the video is John McCain there, kicking a librarian out of a townhall meeting. Such a shame that people stoop to this sort of thing.
