I don't see a comparison between the 2. They both have some very strong points. My favorite is Problogger.net I get more useful information from that Blog than anywhere.
Yeh, I don't read John Chow's to be honest. But now n then i'll have a glance. But I read Shoemoney's mainly because I enjoy his style of writing and what he has to say. Not to gain information. I'm in the opinion that you gain information from experience, so you can read from books until the cows come home but at the end of the day, the main factor is doing! and that's what you gain experience from.
I really don't care for either to be honest. Both of their blogs are more fixated on themselves and less on their readers. I imagine that the popularity of shoemoney grew exponentially when he showed off that 6 figure check. Let's face it...people want to model themselves after the A-listers. The only problem is that most of these A-listers don't actually show how they got to where they are so I don't understand the appeal.
can't agree more. Although, john chow's blog is one good example of a "Review Spam" ... He is busy making $400 per review and totally has no clue what he is doing with his blog.
For me too its ShoeMoney. I even made it to his top commentators list and blogged about it Problogger is another excellent blog as mentioned by factchecker.

I think another VERY respectable blogger and an excellent writer is www.copyblogger.com I don't remember his name, but, I read every post of his purely for the writing.
I have heard of shoemoney from the forum and was not aware of john chow before he was given a penalty by google.
That's because John Chow is not active on DP while Shoemoney is. I am subscribed to both blogs' RSS but I am leaning towards John Chow's. I like John Cow's too, just for the entertainment.
