I would say that the traffic part is much tougher. Placement is something you can easily control and change on a dime. Traffic takes much more time and effort to build.

It's not just traffic that is important...it's targetted traffic.

An affiliate of our Allfeeds.com Adsense Alternative program speaks with Mr. Comm often, and received permission to forward his ebook to me for review. The book is informative and seemingly accurate as best I can tell. I am assured by our affiliate that Mr. Comm is readily available by phone or email to answer detailed questions by his subscribers. Accountability, education, and information
never seem like fraud as previously suggested.

Agree traffic is very hard to get unless you do aggresive promotion. It find that it is more efficient to just build a new site rather than devote to much time trying to get traffic to one specific site. I build a dozen low traffic money makers.

I don't think he is a fraud, but if I'm honest, I'm not sure if he book is worth the price tag. Joel was kind enough to let me have a free copy and upon reading it, I think i'm glad I didn't pay for it. It had some usefull content and I appreciate the free copy, however I could probably have found most of the content online for free. I think Joel uses his name a lot with his products.

It still doesn't matter. What matters is that a person who hasn't spent so much time in the forum doesn't have to fish around for ideas, it's all there in one book, even though it is available on the forums... It saves you time and I don't know about the rest of you, but $100 would take up very little of my time these days...

I agree, reading is wildly overrated - I'm not a big fan of writing either

I read Joel's book. It was emailed to me by someone. I never requested it. Just got it in the email one day. The book is a good read but doesn't offer anything that you shouldn't already know by reading these forums.

If you're going to buy it, then get a clickbank account so you can get it at the affiliate price.

    Write an ebook!!!

I think the hradest thing is to drive traffic to your site! Placement is the easiest part! You can be a "placement expert", but without traffic you can't earn money!

It takes money to earn money

Spend a bit on advertising... make a profit... not too hard to do... but you have to advertise one way... or the other...:D

You can build it.....but there is no guarantee anyone is coming..

    No field of dreams here...

    No shortcuts to be found...

hard work and money wins everytime!!!

    Peace

To be honest, I didn’t know about Joel before reading this thread. I read this thread and contacted Joel about purchasing his book because I try not to make uneducated judgments. As I read the book I made notes on things that I could use. When I finished I had two pages of notes. I have been reading in the forum for about two months now but I haven’t found a lot of the things mentioned in his book, maybe I’m missing something? The forums are full of misguided information along side correct useful information. His book gave me insight into what information I should follow and what was mostly bull. For that alone it was worth the purchase price. So yes you can find some of the information in the book in the forum but you can also find twice as much misinformation right next to it as well.

Yep.. you CAN find most of the info here.. but that will take ALOT of time.. I prefer to work smarter, not harder. So if paying $97 for a book will give me the same info as a few days of non stop searching, it is money WELL spent to me!

This has probably been mentioned about 25 pages back. I think we can close this thread now... (no offense Serg ;-)
