anyone that makes more than 250k should pay a little more in taxes. plumber or whatever. The pathetic attempt by Mccain to portray 250k as middle class and his newest gimmick is exploding in his face again.

The media is loving this Joe the Plumber guy. He is still giving interviews like a celebrity. Maybe he can start collecting appearance fees and pay off his tax debt.

He's a plumber by trade, he isn't a licensed plumber because he works under a licensed plumber, which is legal. FWIW, my dog isn't licensed either, but I'm almost positive he's still a dog.

Are you sure he is a dog. I don't think that "Joe" not being a licensed as plumber is a big deal. Most workers of the construction industry are not licensed.

Maybe, if Joe can start a business, all the free press coverage can propel him into a success.

How is Joe a loser? He is wanting to open a business and improve his life. That is better than people looking for a handout from Obama.

Never figured out why the press found this guy so worthy of scorn. If as Biden seems to think it is impossible to make 250k owning a plumbing business, he obviously isn't familiar with owners of successful trade businesses.

    Try David the Plumber
I know one (his name is David, not Joe) that started out the hard way unclogging sinks and toilets at 2am, sleeping with one ear on an on-call system. He was frequently working in nastiness when his friends were warm and cozy in bed.

By the mid 1990s had grown the biz to where he was an administrator with 25 trucks, negotiating contracts with volume builders, doing nothing but rough-ins and installs on new builds for David Weekley, DR Horton, et al. If he was clearing $1000/mo per truck (easily the case, he was one of my vendors) he was easily making in excess $250k/yr on the business. The math isnt that hard.

He employs a lot of folks, and not only plumbers... but staff for administration, his dispatch personnel, and the lawyers and accountants and such that go with any growing business. He is the face of the wealthy within the middle class, and he got there the hard way. He's the picture of the nose to the grindstone American success story.

That's what this "Joe the Plumber" thing is about

People that know successful tradesmen were able to suddenly put a face on the people about to get hit with tax increases, and the face didnt just match the "rich fatcats" on Wall Street like they thought. Prior to that many assumed the tax increases would only affect a "them" they didnt like... and didn't see it hitting "us". They thought of it as a slap at snobs... then they realized it was gonna hit the guy they go to every year to sponsor their kid's little league team too. That's why the story resonated with many. It was never about "Joe" personally, just about who would get hit.

joe is a loser because he can't even pay his taxes. If he really was a motivated person as he claims to be he would have had his license and would have paid his taxes.
Mccain is a loser because he has to use joe the the tax delinquent to showcase his tax plan.
pugs are losers because they believe in joe and mccain
    the real plumbers support Obama
    ====================================================================
The whole thing is a scam . Mccain can not present a real middle class working person that makes 250k or more. so we have to deal with a "plumber".
He can't show us a real person that makes 250k because most people would instantly recognize a rich person. someone that has two or three cars. a very nice house, maybe two, and a whole lot more.

Why would he waste money on a license if there were no need for them? That makes no sense. I will agree on the tax issue.

because if he is planning to buy a plumbing business he needs it. they go hand in hand. step 1 actually.
Now i belive bush has a lot to do with him being a loser. And i do not understand why he wants to keep the same policies as bush,
The fact is Obama's plan is better for him than Mccain's. Why wouldn't he want that if he is so smart. He need a lot more than 4 years to be ready to buy anything.

I would not acquire the license until the business deal was finalized.

why not. specially that he is 10 years away. it would be better for advertising in the future "licenseds from 1999". It would also advance him on his job. Iam sure there are some jobs that are not available to him now

You got a point there but if you have never owned a business what is the point in obtaining it?

he wants to own one. that is what he said.
i am more interested in the fact that Mccain has made a tax dodger the centerpiece of his tax plan. kind of stupid and a slap in the face to all tax paying honest Americans.

    See: "Symbolism"
If someone said something about "putting the cart before the horse" we'd prob be seeing a dialog here about whether we should really use carts and horses instead of cars, which kind of carts they meant, and what kind of horses we're talking about.

This individual was never the issue, much less the centerpiece of a tax plan. Specifics of Joe's background are as pertinent as discussing the pros/cons of carts and horses in the other case.

you can not use a dog to symbolize a rose. that does not work.
the problem is that he is using a person that makes 40k to symbolize people that make 250k. That is in my opinion an attempt to scam people. If he repeats the joe the plumber over and over then the tax dodger is the centerpiece of his campaign. or maybe a symbolization of his plan.
