Hi Daniel! Here I am, Ricardo. My main problem with JobPress is to make it read my old wordpress database. It only reads the new posts (job offers) from the form created with the custom fields. I think it needs something on the php language that tells the theme to read the title from the form or else from the normal post title.
If you go inside the posts from your previous database you will see how different they look from the one's you post with the theme's "New Job" form. The old posts cannot be read by the theme because they are probably blog posts. I would suggest installing a blog as a sub-domain or blog.domain.com to make it easy for you to transfer your old database. This theme is exclusively for job postings. Dan
I've trying to figure out why the jobpress theme will not recognize its CSS file. Its running fine on MAMP until it is uploaded to a production server.
Have you checked your FTP or file permissions on that server? I just had that problem with a different theme.
Yes Dan, I know that this theme is for job postings only, that's why I bought it. I want to use jobpress to replace my old website (a wordpress jobs site too) and I want to integrate the job offers I have in the old one to this new theme. It must exist a way to make jobpress read the old database too, reading the normal posts title if the post isn't submitted by the form in jobpress. I know there are codes in wordpress like "if else" but I don't know how to use it.
I'm a newb in wordpress but want to change the background buttons and all that good stuff. I find it our the three blogs I run that it's hard to gain visitors... traffic? Here is mine it is http://www.todaysjobpost.com
What I meant to say is that the theme will not recognize anything else other than it's own postings. So if you wanted to have the old database represented in the theme you would need to transfer all the posts to it's language. If you go into your WP-ADMIN section, under "Manage" and "Posts" and you click one of the postings done through the theme's sign up page you will see what I mean. I know it's tough to start from scratch, but it's very hard to transfer all the postings from another theme. What I would do is do another install of Wordpress and upload the database to that install. So you would have www.YourDomain.com/new for your new postings and www.YourDomain.com for the old site. That way you don't loose those indexed pages. The only drawback to this is actually re-creating the jobpress theme's look with the old theme. No, dailywp.com is but he never replies to help requests. Correct... Yes, that was back when the theme was released.
Is anyone here still using this theme? Ever get support? New installation and having issues with the mail function after job posting. Anyone having a similar issue?
Please help. I have set up jobpress, but when someone posts a new job it won't go live straight away. I am notified by PayPal and then I have to make the job live. Is there anyway to make the listings live automatically, and am I missing something really easy?? Thanks to all who can help!
