I came across this: http://www.jobhits.co.uk Look like a great engines for jobs especially this financial crisis. Anyone know how to do the same thing. Cheers
what on earth man, surely you can make a better first post than spam! coming back to the question, i know how to make that - drop me a me if interested.
It's not spam! Lucidimagination has page rank 6, there's no point for me to spam with that page. The only problem for me is I can not page a direct link to the anwser. Try to search Google with this keyword: jobhits lucidimagination, you'll find the answer: @blankboxes: If you don't know about Lucidimagination.com, I am sure you don't know about how to implement that job search engine. And you're spamming for sure. Antharas.
Do you want to clone that site? or do you want to get traffic as that site? I think, you can contact freelancers via many freelancer sites on the net to archive that.....
it's not too difficult to create a site like that (just need to know some php )... you can get job postings from indeed.com (create a publishers account, for free, at https://ads.indeed.com/jobroll/ and then check out this page: https://ads.indeed.com/jobroll/xmlfeed) to see how you can query their server. Indeed.com has a nice easy to use api that gives you xml for any job based query...they pull jobs listings from various sources like hotjobs, monster and countless others. I actually just made a site using indeed.com. : Teaching Jobs USA ... anyway, it didn't take too long to make it. Just get some freelancer who knows php. If you just want something like the site that i just made...the freelancer shouldn't charge all that much
@e96: Thanks for the info. The only problem with using publisher program is the speed and your control of content. Search engines like google will not like your site because of slow speed and your site is sharing the same content with indeed.com. CPC = Cost Per Click. Indeed will pay you once per quarter...that's not such a good deal to start with. I it would be better if you can build up your own search engine using: spider/indexer and a website to search and index search results.
regarding speed: doing a search on the my indeed powered site generally results in a page load of under 4 seconds ( according to yslow on my pc) ...fast enough for most people. regarding google not like the page: i already use indeed.com's data for a job search site on one of my other domains -- it has nice decent rank and gets traffic-- google likes it enough for my tastes. the site currently has no page rank because i just bought the domain and launched the site about 3 days ago! ...maybe building your own would be better but for the little effort the site took me and the fact that it should get at least as much (and in alll likelihood more) traffic as the site i already own... ... i do know what that phrase means i just don't know what indeed's cpc.
Good to know that you have good results with Indeed. I may try it! Can you please tell little bit more about the revenue from Indeed publisher program? How much is its Page eCPM ? Or CPC from indeed for your other sites? Thanks,
hi..sorry been away from the comp for a while. the cpc is pretty low..lower than google . most of my sites are in the education niche which generally has about a 10-15 cent a click range with google adsense..this is a bit lower than that but also seems to pay based on a pay per impression basis. (Honestly i'm not totally clear on how indeed.com reimburses people... i never created this script with the idea of making lots of money..so i'm personally not disappointed.. and i haven't really read through the payment reports carefully) ...sorry not gonna make us all rich!
