Jibble is a popular teen social networking site with just over 4,400 members.

    Demo:

    Username: sitepoint
    Password: sitepoint

    Description:

It was started on the 7th october. I am selling because it is too much work for me, I haven't been able to dedicate much time to it in the past week or so and this is clearly reflected in the stats for the past week. I would love to see this go to someone that loves building communities. If I don't end up selling, I may just have to let it run by itself and just hope that it'll eventually run on itself and go viral, but I'd prefer to just sell to someone who has time.

The price I will be asking will be based on expenses + brandability + marketability + potential, but certainly not something unrealistic like $350,000. I believe what I'm asking is reasonable.

    Expenses:

phpFox license w/ copyright removal: $375
    Domain: $x,xxx
    Design/integration: $1,000
    Modifications: $250 +/-
    Advertising: $600 +/-
    Paid referrals ($0.50 each): $170 +/-
    Privacy policy: high $xx

So I've invested around low $xx,xxx in the site because the domain did cost quite alot.

    What's included?

    * cPanel login details - Site is hosted at ASmallOrange on a shared plan
    * Files/database/PSD for design
    * Domain: Jibble.com (Registered at enom)
    * Privacy policy custom written for Jibble.com
    * phpFox lifetime license w/ copyright removal

IMPORTANT - Asking price, stats, etc.

I will only give traffic stats, starting bid, asking price, etc. to those who are genuinely interested in the site. I'd prefer to keep private what price I am asking and what I end up selling it for.

Please DO NOT contact me if you are only curious.

Thanks for looking and happy new year (in a few days)!

    Revenue Details:

I haven't really tried to monetize the site, all I've done was put up some ringtone offers from Azoogle. I've received around 186 clicks so far this month, but no conversions as of yet.

    Traffic Details:

I started off with MySpace bulletin promotion. I spent around $10-$30 everyday for bulletins to be posted on US prime time (6pm). In the days I was promoting through bulletins, I would often receive a few hundred registrations per day.

After that I started a little referral offer and offered to pay $0.50 per referral on various webmaster forums. This helped bring in a little over 300 members.

I have also purchased a banner spot on http://forums.offtopic.com for one month, which cost me $100. That helped bring in a few hundred uniques / day, but not as much as MySpace bulletins did.

I have also done quite alot of offline promotion by sticking up posters around my area and in school and just getting my friends to help me spread the word by telling other people about the site.

I am also a featured phpFox client and listed on the featured clients page: http://www.phpfox.com/featured_clients/

This also brings in 100 +/- uniques / day and it didn't cost me anything to get featured. They just contacted me saying that they liked how the site looks, how its been customized and asked if I wanted to be added to the featured clients.

"I bought it for $x,xxx, why? I think it's a good name because it's brandable, highly memorable, easy to pronounce, and it's supposed to mean "anything" - Look at urbandictionary - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jibble

I felt that it was somewhat as the name Bebo, which is another popular social networking site. It's not the average "Name here"Space.com, Or My"Something"Friends.com that's usually for sale here."

Glad you asked. Although it isn't an official dictionary word, it is commonly known as meaning "anything".

    That's why I like it. :D

EDIT: Didn't realize usermaster already replied for me. Thankyou. :)

Seems like that person wants you to give them the domain name and site, before they pay

Hi, what are the potential revenue sources for this site? The teen market doesn't have much money to burn, typically. Nice site.

Some off the top of my head:
    1) Reasonably priced paid membership options where paid members have more space, and are recognized as supporters throughout the site.
    2) Adsense / YPN
    3) CPM Programs (since the site generates quite alot of page views)
    4) Banner advertising

Honestly, this is one of the reasons why I've considered the sale of my site. I'm sure someone with more experience with these types of sites would be able to do much more with the site in terms of revenue.

The only thing I've tried so far is CPA, lots of clicks, but no conversions. It might be because ringtone offers are kind of saturated though.

EDIT: Also, forgot to mention, phpFox Forums has a GREAT community where you can talk with other phpFox community administrators and learn from them and how they generate revenue from their phpFox sites. :)

Do you create the theme or pay someone to create for you? And what version of phpFox you're using.

Like I said in the first post, the design cost me $1,000. That is the design, coding, and phpFox integration.

    I'm on phpFox version 1.1.

    Thanks.

I've now decided to make public the BIN.

    BIN: $16,000

The reserve is somewhere near that. Open to offers, willing to negotiate. Current high offer at $12,000.
