Jewelry Shipping

    Hi Everyone,

We have recently opened an online store for jewelry.
We are currently looking for a shipping company to send our clients the goods and we seem to run into a bit of an issue.

We are based in Israel and we have attempted to use FedEx/DHL/Israel Postal service.

They basically all tell us that shipping to countries which are not: Ireland, Belgium, USA, Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Denmark, Hong Kong, France, Canada and Mexico is strictly prohibited.

So we are missing a lot of really important countries like the UK, Germany, Italy etc..

How is it possible that you cannot import or send any jewelry via post to these countries?

Has anyone ever dealt with this type of situation? Do you know of any other shipping company that will send jewelry to all countries?

    Thanks!

Is this to do with hallmarking? foreign hallmarks or jewellery without hallmarks are difficult to import and you may need to go through particular processes but you wont be able to do this for individual items.

I have never faced such situation. But I think for jewelery there is a legal process and permit you have to get. If you have the permit then you can easily ship your jewelery so check out the legal rules of Israel about it.

Those countries mentioned may have trade restrictions with your country. Its best to ask someone in your country's Export office or Embassy to find out which countries you're restricted from shipping goods into and all the further details.
