Hello, I have my own Jewelry business & In the past I have tried to sell Jewelry On Ebay. I lost a lot of money on this one deal. I wanted to hear from the Buyers who buy Jewelry. What are the main things that you look for when buying jewelry? Is It the Price, the pictures, the terms of the sale, the Feedback Rating of the Seller? I have seen a lot of Sellers starting off there Items at really low prices. Do these low starting prices actually work for you most of the time? Or have you been burned by doing this. Thank you Legends
As far as starting prices go, if there is a high demand then you can usually start your auctions very low. If the demand is unknown or just really not that great, then you can loose a lot by starting really low. As far as selling, I personally like to see very good detailed pictures. A detailed description, somewhat objective. Feedback is also very important. A few negatives are alright as long as the seller responds to them and they aren't anything too terrible. Most people have had a bad experience or two on ebay and sometimes people give negative feedback for no real reason, like 'the shipping took an extra day'. Terms of the sale are somewhat important. Shipping is huge for me. I absolutely hate to see something for $10 and see $80 shipping. Shipping should be reasonable. Everyone knows that a shoe box sized object doesn't cost $80 to ship Priority Mail.
HI, I'm not a big ebayer yet(I'm only 14) but as far as I know when you list on ebay if you make the starting price lower you will get more bids early on if it is popular. If you make the price higher you have less of a chance of losing money but the starting price is higher and the bids usually are not until the end. Tim
