I have a feeling the one's in it for the long term won't follow the current next time.

 

Believe me, Jeff is NOT greedy by any means. He is one of, if not, THE absolute nicest of people I have ever dealt with. Jeff is extremely passionate about his projects. Believe me, when something is wrong or in question, he would not hesitate to try and find the solution to a problem, no matter what time. 1,2,3AM hehe

 

Probably is a nice guy Rob, I don't know him and was probably being a bit harsh throwing the whole bucket of tar and feathers at him. Gracefully retract that and say that perhaps naive would better fit this case, there was warning signs it was going to happen and he could have stopped but maybe never saw it as a real possibility until too late.

All's well that ends well though and he should now be able to prove his worth starting from scratch which I'm sure he won't have any problems doing.

basically what it was, was quite a few people trying to advertise. I can speak for myself and call it as that, since that's how I saw it. Maybe G just wanted dir owners to use their adwords... we'll never know. It's all just a can of worms and will most likely remain that way forever hehe.

 

I agree and moreover as I know all the so-called players personally

I always find it dis-concerting how folks of little or no knowledge of who these people are what they stand for, or how they operate etc

Yet these know-alls usually have all the knowledge to disparage anyone at will

if they wanted to advertise why didnt they set the footer links in WP and directory templates as nofollow?
why didnt they nofollow all links on paid homepage and sitewide links?
