I have been in one facet or another of the computer business for 31 years. There are a couple of common characteristics techno-sfwr people seem to all have. They are very intelligent, and they are very helpful. I am a pion to this forum, but once again someone with the knowledge and willingness to help jumped in. The point is not so much that mjamesb helped me solve a javascript problem, but that he had the kindness (and skill) to do so. My technical problem has a solution, which I'll forget about soon, but the human kindness will last and last. Thanks to all of you on this forum who help.

This is the positive side of people, and fortunately it does exist. We cannot also forget the darker side of those who won’t show in their answer any kind of clue to your questions, but all their arrogance and despise and make you feel so inferior that you shouldn’t have post your question. Unfortunately this also happens, people looking for answers and getting nothing more than destructive criticism. I suggest you add to mjamesb reputability, if not already done. Nice people should be somehow rewarded.

Sorry to be out of topic.
