As w3schools.com is offering certification in many of the web side languages and style sheet e.t.c, I want to ask that if they allow a candidate to have a person of their own choice as an invigilator, won't it be easy for the candidate to cheat? Especially when he is attempting the certification exams from his home?
This is what is called "low-stakes" testing in the certification industry. In this case, the value of the certificate is only as high as the supervisor's/invigilator's reputation. So picking your high school or college principal would probably carry more weight than picking your dorm room buddy This is better than nothing, I suppose, but this would only be useful when your interviewer actually *believes* that W3CSchools' is an accredited institution. IMHO, you're probably better off by writing code for free (find a local charity or nonprofit with a web site that needs work) and then add that experience to your resume. You'll not only earn karma but also will make useful contacts within your community ... the experience is just an added bonus
