JavaScript CountDown Needed

    Hello guys,

I want to use a countdown script in my website, I have made some search but all of the scripts were based on a specific date but what I need is that the script counts down from ex. (6 days 12 hours 3 minutes 20 seconds) starting from the first visit of the user (cookie based). So not everyone will see the same time because the countdown starts unique from the first visit... and after the time is finished I want the user to be redirected to another page and can never reload the first page unless they clean coockies of course.

Please PM me with your price.

    Thanks

I'm not using a library, I just need the script. If a user cleans its cookie we can do nothing, they are just normal visitors...

Question: Why not use server-side script and DB to store the IPs and the datetime they first came in, so even if they clear they cookies, the countdown won't reset?

BTW, I sent a PM with my bid yesterday but I didn't receive a reply. Please let me know if my price is too high. I might be willing to negotiate. Thanks.

Answer: That looks also like a good solution. I'm in as long as it covers my needs.

Yeah the bid was high, as I already received half of it :)

OK. Then, I'll bid half of the initial bid I made through PM and that will include the server-side script that I mentioned in my previous post. Like I said, I'm willing to negotiate. :) You don't need styling anyway right? Just the working script?

Just PM me if you decide to accept my bid. Thanks.

    Okay Extraspecial,
Have a look at cookie-based, javascript countdown page in here http://smokingscript.com/test/v1/page1.html (page1).

I have set the first time-limit to be one year, so that a visitor who keeps regular visits (less than a year interval) at page1 or page2 will get noticed and will always be thrown out from page1 (unless he clears the cookies or disables javascript... of course).

The 2nd time-limit is set to a week.

Let me know if you have any little enhancement to be made, and I'll send you the files afterwards.

    Warm regards,
    Hendra
