Does JavaScript that displays links to content on my site will be recognized by search engines for link popularity purpose?

Naturally, I am mostly interested in the larger search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN.

No, I'm afraid not. Search engines generally don't parse Javascript.

I guess the next question is even thought they don't generally parse Javascript they can recognise a javascript void. I think any real SEO experts out there know what I mean. Will the void be penalised? That being the case it then is probably being parsed thus creating a site ban? Any thoughts from any SEO experts out there!
From what I am am seeing is that Javascript is parsed and can flag a site for a ban. This should be an easy answer out there from an SEO persron who knows thier stuff.

What if the URL included within the JavaScript code itself. The SE does not need to parse the code but just read it as is.

For some reason I think this should work. It seems to me that most ad network has high link popularity, although they are using JavaScript code on the network. They get the credit instead of the sites they are advertising.

But if I do a "Links:URL" in google, I can pick up some of my AdWords ads? Does this make any difference or not?
