Java Script with FTP hosting

Whats going on everyone? I need a little help. I recently transfered my website from ehostpros to godaddy. They tell me the only way i can setup an ftp site with more than one ftp account is to use java script. I need 5 - 10 accounts that give users access only to certain files and one to give access to the root directory. I haven't used script before so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help.

that makes no sense whatsoever, the two aren't even closely related

JavaScript is a script language interpreted by a scripting host, such as a browser.
FTP is a protocol. You could use ftp to transfer javascript files, but that's about it!

What they told me is that my domain name only allows one ftp account to be set up. That would allow everyone who accessed it to have root permission. They said the only way to let people access my ftp site with restricted file permission is to use a scripting language. Does this make any sense? does anyone use GoDaddy for web hosting?

not experienced with godaddy hosting but I guess the limitation here is your limit here of one ftp account. most hosts do not set a limit on the number of ftp accounts but some like godaddy do.

probably someone who has hosted with godaddy can chime in with more details.:)

Most likely that means a server-side scripting (Perl, PHP etc.) and not client-side (JavaScript/VB).
