    w3schools is good, but, a good practice is first google your question, then select the most appropriate result you get. w3schools gives you manual instructions, if you're looking for something more personal - google.

    It really depends what you are looking to do with javascript, If theres certain cool functions you want for your site, check out dynamicdrive.com it gives you some excellent code for all things dynamic on your website, like slideshows, roll over effects etc.
