I am trying to configure a simple java applet to work in a subdomain e.g. forums.mydomain.com and does not work, however if I test the applet from www.mydomain.com/subdomainname works fine. what is the proper syntax?

the syntax remains the same if the relative path to your java applets remain the same. it does not matter whether or not it is a subdomain.

If you post the code we can have a look at it.

there may be a rpoblem with your subdomain's configuration. I have had problems in the past where subdomains would not display images as sub.domain.com but would display as domain.com/sub. I just redid the subdomain through cPanel and it was fixed.

Not sure if this is the problem but also, as mentioned above there may be relative path problems.
