It is with great sadness that I have to inform members here that our most distinguished member @deathshadow passed away on the 23rd of May. From Jason's friend Auctavia Source https://www.codingforum.net/forum/o...8815-is-jason-knight-ok?p=2438854#post2438854 coothead
oh crap, I noticed he was less active here but thought he was just busy with the real world. He was incredibly helpful to many, and while his style was frequently abrasive you couldn't fault his generosity in sharing his time and expertise.
Source https://www.codingforum.net/forum/o...8815-is-jason-knight-ok?p=2438854#post2438854 I've just noticed that digitalpoint, for some unknown reason, does not appear to let the link work as one would expect. Clicking just seems to reload/refresh the page. To get it open the page requires one to instead right click on the link and then click Open Link in New Tab coothead
That doesn't even work for me, I even tried copying it as plain text and pasting into a new tab. https://www.codingforum.net/forum/other-forums/active-members-lounge/2438815-is-jason-knight-ok
That's a great loss here on digitalpoint. Jason helped me immensely. So now I have one argument that I won with him. Now he knows he's *not* dead. I sincerely hope he's happy where ever he is. He was definitely a great asset to us. I'm going to miss him. denis: thank you for the information.
Oh, man... I don't know why he always had to act so tough online. I privately asked him to code something for me and corresponded with him reg. the code back and forth and he was the nicest person to work with. Someone posted the same post on sitepoint: https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/rip-jason-knight-a-k-a-deathshadow/449452
RIP, caballero, you are missed. FWIW, here is a archive link to a recent version of his for_others section: https://web.archive.org/web/20231005033356/https://cutcodedown.com/for_others/medium_articles/
This news shocked me. RIP @deathshadow. He helped me several times on my past projects. I don't come to this forums lately because I mostly asked the AI lately. He will be missed.
May God accept him into heaven. We don't know him because we are new members in the forum, but it is obvious that he is a good person.
@SoftLink basically, I use ChatGTP, and Copilot. They were great at backend, but they mostly give impractical answers for the frontend. That's why I still keep coming back here when I need suggestions on the frontend.
FB keeps showing his profile under "people you may know": https://www.facebook.com/jason.knight.39589
I just found out about his passing today because of this thread. (I don't log on here very often) I learnt a lot from his posts and his humor was off the chain. I messaged him a few times over the years, and he was very cool.
