Hats off to the Japanese conservation group!!! They have rescued a loggerhead sea turtle, with a 74-centimetre (30-inch) long shell. This has been being rescued off southwestern Japan following a suspected shark attack last summer. The injured leg will be replaced with prosthetic leg to lead a perfect life in ocean. Helping a fellow being, be it animal or human is not a waste of money. Life is hard for many but there is enough money and food through out the world to look after each and every one of us, it is just greed and selfish behavior that causes so many to suffer. Discrimination and lack of compassion e.g. the quote below is part of that selfish behavior. Who are you to decide what is wasteful, many racist, elitists and sexist people believe their groups to be more deserving/important than others. We each play a part on this planet and our lives no matter how big or small shape its future. If you want to look at it from a purely selfish human point of view, we actual gain from looking after animals and the environment, the planet exists best as an eco system, you want to keep this planet for humans then you need to look after all inhabitants. Maybe your religious or spiritual, then as a human you may gain from the positive karma of helping a poor injured animal. What a boring sad and mucked up world it would be if we only helped the human inhabitants. My advise to you webzola: Get a heart
Who's to say these individuals agree with whaling, not all Japanese people agree with whaling. These individuals have performed an extremely kind and generous act for this turtle enabling it to once again live a full life. I personally think whaling is cruel and unnecessary, but I also believe people should be praised and supported when they have shown compassion. These individuals may not see the contradictions in their ways, that is if they also agree with whaling. It doesn't mean you should knock them for doing something positive. Many people have double standards for example many people who disagree with whaling eat meat from factory reared animals. One is no less crueler than the other. It has been noted in psychology that individuals that harm animals are more likely to harm people. I personally would like to encourage the Japanese to care for individuals less fortunate than themselves be it animal or human, it has a positive knock on affect, which can't be bad
I'm wondering how much it's gonna cost to make these limbs... i mean so much goin on in the world and they want to spend time making limbs for a turtle...
