January slowdown in in visitors coming from Google search.

    My SERPs are the same buy the visitor count is half to the normal. January seems to be the slowest month of the year for me as far as visitors coming from Google search. Has anybody noticed the same thing?

    We have plenty of traffic coming from Google...higher than ever in fact. We are in the midst of a link building campaign...so its something we expected.

    You should try checking your rankings using a proxy server to see if you have rankings on other data centers as well. Your traffic shouldn't be down 50% if you have the same rankings.

    I tend to agree that traffic has been up for our "new site" as well (average of 150 uniques daily now and growing)
    after we did some back-link building and will surly increase after a few more months.

    Even earnings in local business are affected with this kind of problem, people might tend to be tight in their expenses for this time of year.
