january earning dropped like 50% why???

I suspect that the holidays have ended and it's cold outside so more people are surfing.

 

My Adsense loves a good snow storm outside for traffic but if your site is really a global deal it makes really no difference.

 

Maybe because of the holidays?

my earnings have increased recently. But I have no clue how google does things and suspect they have no clue either.

 

not only google is dropping...During the first quarter, most of the advertising networks are dropping. Low ecpm and low inventory due to the fact that they used them up for the Holiday Sales. These include YPN, Yieldmanager (DMX/RMX) network, Valueclick .....and many more

 

Although the traffic is on the rise...but i can clearly see decline in ecpm & earnings. And yeah! Its exactly 50% decline for me too

So,Does this 50% has some special significance?

 

My CPC in January has been excellent. One site is receiving $1/click average but is only generating around 20 clicks per day. Just need to get more traffic to it, and I'll be on to a very hot niche for this year.

Another site of mine, is also generating a higher CPC - $0.3/click for a niche usually not associated with high earnings.

My main site unfortunately is performing very poor. $0.1/click and CTR down to less than 1%, which I will need to make some adjustments to and try to get this back to at least 4%.


So to answer the question, CPC has increased greatly, but CTR has reduced dramatically, resulting in average earnings - though if I can increase my CTR I will probably be making around double what I am now.

 

My CPC was incredible in December. It dropped severely the first few days of January, though.

Things have definetly picked up for me in January, had a pretty poor December but that is often the case in the travel industry that time of year!

 

same here, earnings dropped about 40%

looks a bit better today, hope it will pick up

 

Economy has been kind of slow. Perhaps advertisers are cutting back.

Lol, mine dropped too, it has tapered in Jan. Hope it doesnt follow that trend.

 

My traffic and generla impressions are going great, but definitely noticed a lower payout per click... I think thats normal in january..

 

Mine back to normal since two day ago.. I guess everything will back to normal..
