I thought this article was fascinating. This guy pulled the same shoe throwing stunt the guy in Iraq did with Bush, yet the British police let him go immediately. Do you think throwing your shoes at a head of a foreign state deserves something more?

If we had a major natural disaster in the US and Obama decided to take a trip to Europe, I would completely understand criticism of his actions. However, I wouldn't condone someone attempting to physical assault him for this, and don't consider it a part of free speech. It sounds as though he intended to hit him, "One shoe narrowly missed him while the other was deflected away by a security guard". I don't know about "jail time" as Zardari suffered no physical injury, but, it seems like he should have been arrested for further investigation.

Just follow the normal procedure. If the victim decides to press the charges, then charge them appropriately and give them a fair trial.

Damn it! he should have used a hand grenade.

Only handful in Pakistan like Zardari. Even in his own party people think he had some hand in murder of his wife.

lol!!! it looks like Shoe Throw season, first started with Bush and latest casualty is Zardari :p

What do u think is the main reason for the increase in such incidents ? Its the media attention. Its the media who repeatedly highlighted and provoked others to use this method to show their aggression. Media has to be brought under control, when they depict such acts - they must motivate the people that such an act is an offense and its worse than the other guy's mistakes and we would be rated much below the other guy.

Zardari's party supporters attack the news channel and burn down the big amount of copies of the biggest newspaper of Pakistan which covered the story here. And he talks about democracy .

It's assault and assault must be punished appropriately. I'd give him 30 days in jail.
