I'm laughing my a$$ off, if this is the real update. Looking at one of my target terms relating to credit card processing: 4 pdf's, a Cold Stone Creamery news article at #1, and 4 sites who do not sell the product but all have an identical description, all in the top 10. Its amazing....
I just did a check on these DC's and with McDar's tool, and saw all the changes I initially reported as jagger3 roll back to what appears to be jagger2 state... Anyone else? -- Derek
Yes Grr... the #7 is hopelesssly gone and the #12 got phased out also, now some DC's show a slip back one to #14. Oh boy my good attitude is waning...maybe I'll submit to directories to make myself feel better.
I think we are seeing the propogation of 2. I was seeing at least 3 different sets of data, it's down to 2 sets, and the intial jagger2 DC's are propogating. I bet this means jagger3 starts at any time... or is comingled with 2. Damn, my head hurts again, I need beer.
At least someone is making headway in this mess! I hope someday that I will outrank expired ebay listings again, but I guess we cant get everything that we want.
I'm being outranked by a page on sourceforge that says 'this page no longer exists'. I bet they're making a killing from that page.
We still seem to have the scraper site problems with my keywords. Maybe I should allow my adwords to be spent on these sites, they seem to get all the traffic now!!!! lol Adsense, is a crazy sometimes....
Virtually everything for my keywords is falling back to where it was before Jagger. Virtually no changes at all...or almost nothing of significance. I wasted a lot of energy watching this. Dave
ouch! One KW where I have had #1 since June is down to 62. Another went from 7 to 256. I checked my logs and traffic was off by 90%. After I picked my jaw up from the floor, I noticed that I had zero traffic for 21 hours. The site was down. A scary moment, though. If G is taking webmasters votes, I say stick with Jagger 2.
so what? people have a harder time believing what goes on in big government despite the fact that there are watchdogs all over, but they turn around and take every word that comes out of a business (or a non-official source in this case) with it's doors bolted shut as fact and law. i still think they botched it up day 1 and gave themselves 3 weeks to figure it out. either that or they rather put all the bs sites up top in front of the serious businesses who would consider plunking quarters into their arcade to play a little longer. my new competitors in many cases have "a page" on the topic that my sites are built around ... there's value added right there. maybe google is training users to click on the right side instead for the answers to their queries. a couple more weeks of this is all the need at this point.
this whole thing is crazy - I don't think G knows what they are doing. It is still all about the links - but now age of link is what is given more weight. So if you have old links with your target a-text do whatever it takes to keep them up there for as long as possible.
Well - some say Jagger 3 (3rd phase of Google October Event) has NOT started yet... HOWEVER I am seeing significant change. NAMELY Allinanchor is starting to return to normal range! (Position #11 Allinanchor #3 - pre-Jagger) Postion #14 allinanchor: #802 -11/03/2005 Position: 2 DCs #13 17 DCs #14 14 DCs #28 Allinanchor: #19 on 10 DCs #802 on 14 DCs #803 on 3 DCs #804 on 6 DCs Cache Dates and Allins: Below is the web page I made up that shows ALL of the Daily results, by Datacenter, starting from September 20th thru Today. Google October Event - Jagger NOTE: As I read others talking about changes starting ~September 22 I looked back and, sure enough, the experiment page started doing the "funky Google" way back then! Looks like these are a few of the datacenters McDar is reffering to (I think if I am reading her chart right) 216.239.57.98 216.239.57.99 216.239.57.104 216.239.57.105 My allin's have nearly returned on those datacenters although not the ranking
