top 10 for my main keyword shows only sites older than 1996. In my country internet arrived in 98-99....
Me too, Zihno but the cutoff is more like 2000 - however, it's always been like that, this shakeup...er, update has not affected the keywords I monitor very much.
Hi Guys....first post on here. I joined because you seem a nice bunch, and try and help one another. Will post on the subject in hand when I have something worthwhile to say ))
I have no idea where you got that idea. With the exception of me, everyone else here is actually a bunch of bickering bastards whose only purpose in life is to annoy other people.
There's been a whole lot of ranting and raving on various forums, about the latest update. Constructive comments haven't generally been the theme. Rather, its more of a 'how do I get my competitors banned', or 'Google's made a mess of this'. However, the reality as I see it, is that the update has a way to run, and until then, nobody really knows the outcome. Theres talk of IP addresses providing different results, flux, sites disappearing, scamming, keyword stuffing, whether links are valid or not, whether Google is interested in shareholders or customers etc etc etc. The truth is that if your site is doing ok, none of this is relevant. If its doing badly, then all of it becomes of enormous relevance in the eyes of the webmaster!
Another thing I noticed on three different keywords is that sites with keyword in the domain name are privileged. I know this is normal...but It seems to be much more evident now
I've got a site 4 days old that is now ranking for a faily competitve keyword. I have no idea what's going oin.
I just did a spot check and see that my site is back down into the teens and twenties again. Just like yesterday. Anyone else seeing big movement again? Caryl
