I've tried every way of monetising my 10000+ uniques p/month sports blog

    Hi guys,

I'm a long time reader, first time poster. I have a boxing blog that gets 10000 - 20000 uniques per month (depending on how much I post) but I just can't monetise it. I've tried Adsense, Amazon etc but nothing seems to have an effect. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate any feedback or ideas you can give.

    Thanks

Why not offer a free ebook in exchange for people signing up to your mailing list? You can then create other mailing lists that are more targeted -ie., where people ask to be sent offers. You send out updates to your main mailing list with links to your tighter mailing lists. See how this works?

That traffic is great but I think is not big enough in terms of monetizing. My suggestion is make the blog bigger with more readers until it hits 10x of that recent numbers. Once you hit the target you can try self-serve ads or buyselffads or blogads

10,000-20,000 UV per month is plenty to monetize. If you have 2.5% click on an Adsense ad and the average CPC is $.20 you generate $50-$100... while not great surely is a start.

With adsense it's all about ad placement, blending, and optimization to target relevant higher CPC ads.

I agree. Build a list and then market to the list later and you can earn a lot of money.

You need somewhere in the range of 30,000 and up before you make any decent money, in general. Depends on your niche of course too. I recommend revising your traffic strategy and look for high leverage traffic activities you can implement. Then I recommend building an email list and monetizing it through affiliate offers. Good luck :)

You can also use adwords (which is free, but maybe not as effective), and there is CPA such as Commission Junction where you can choose what ads will go on your site. Just make sure that your ads relate to your sites topic; in this case Sports. I don't see why you should wait for a larger audience.

The best way is to make your own research, try different variations, and see what works the best for you.

The most important is to know your audience. If they are 11-16 years old and you are asking them to buy $500 worth items then it won't work. If they are mostly males and you are asking them to buy beautiful curtains or children's nappies then it won't work, lol. If they are from a poor country and you are asking them to spend their hardly earned money then it won't work.

Try different type of offers, CPA, CPL, email submit, coupons, etc etc.

    Try these sites:

    http://odigger.com/

    http://www.offervault.com/

Watch out for scam, the following is considered a trusted one (but difficult to get in):

    http://www.maxbounty.com/

(Remember, if you wanna sign up with these networks its hard to get in. You will have to convince them that you can promote their offers. Use email like instead of to look more professional.)

    Also try this one:

    www.cpalead.com

AdSense should work on that site with some good ad placements. Also, you could also try to get those visitors more involved by getting them on your list or your Facebook page, and then promoting relevant affiliate products to them.

I would contact other site owners and reach out and find out what has worked for them in this particular niche. If your upfront and honest, you'll be sure to get a few who are willing to give you some tips.
