I've tried and tried, but I can't get my site indexed

I've been trying for two months to get my site indexed. I bought the domain and built the site, but it still hasn't got indexed.

It has links to it and I have submitted it to google, but it's still not indexed.

Any advice?

 

It is a 3+ year old domain so perhaps it was previously banned by Google. It looks like it was a thin affiliate site sometime in the past.

You could try a re-inclusion request.

 

Thanks for the reply. That was my next step. I just wanted to know if I had missed anything.

When I set up the site there was an invisible robots.txt noindexing the site that not even my host could find, but it showed up in webmaster tools. To solve the problem I put a robots.txt file in the index allowing it to be indexed, but google still hasn't gone through the site.

 

It could still be in the process of being indexed sometimes it can take a few months sometimes

 

I doubt it though as it's not a new domain and it has a number of links to it.

 

Google replied to me and said that it's not banned. I have no idea why it isn't indexed now.
