publishers who do absolutely nothing to violate the adsense tos still get banned? if so why would google do such a thing? is it simply because google is so big and fat that they dont care about a few innocent publishers who get canned?
I seriously doubt it was ever not the publishers fault. Google are a lot smarter than someone testing out adsense for the first time.
I spoke at length about this by phone with a member of the Google Adsense Marketing team.. He indicated to me that Google takes every ban very seriously, and the it is RARE that a totally 'innocent' publisher gets banned. He admitted that sometimes mistakes are made, and that is why they have the appeal process. He pointed out that many of the "innocent" publishers that get banned for 'no reason' have multiple websites - most of which are fine, but ONE, maybe even one that gets very little traffic violates the TOS, and that is what gets them banned. Also, many of the "i got banned for no reason" posts here at DP end up with the real reason for the ban being reveled. and there have been a few innocent publishers that were banned, appealed, and got re-instated..
hmm what about publishers whose adsense code is stolen and misused? (click bombing), would google know that the adsense code is running on a site with ought the publishers knowledge?
you mean who claim to do nothing wrong. many times, if the threads get long enough, the person admits to what he did to get banned. no one ever comes out and says it, though. but everyone knows what they did. no one wants to wait 10 pages into a thread to get a person to admit it though. used to be interesting, not anymore.
Quite true. They ignore the TOS and believe they haven't done anything wrong. Perhaps, they should have read the terms properly.
Believe it or not there actually ARE innocent publishers that get banned. The trouble is, when 95% of those accused actually are guilty and something like 50% of those who protest their innocence are guilty too, it takes a lot to convince Google if you've done nothing wrong. You've always got an uphill struggle on your hands because they assume guilt rather than innocence. They quite often don't tell you what you're guilty of either, further reducing the chances of you being able to prove your innocence.
"but ONE, maybe even one that gets very little traffic violates the TOS, and that is what gets them banned." Maybe this is what got me banned. Because I NEVER touched their Ads. Anyway, that's OK. Regie
Myself, I still have five 'unauthorized' sites listed @ https://www.google.com/adsense/publisher-whitelist-view. Two are google sites?... one is some weather site, and two others are just IP's. I assume (like the issue DP had) is that someone copied my adsense code (b/c they thought maybe it looked good layout wise or something on my site?) and put it on their own, forgetting (or on purpose) to change the Publisher ID. I list my site in the 'Allowed URLs' box to hopefully avoid that issue.
before this my google adsense also get banned by Google,i makes the report and i tell Google explain my faults..they explain everthing..and i tell them, that is mistake..they review back my account..and correctly that mistake..
Agreed! But I think there is more proprietary reasons why publishers gets banned. We may not know that. I for one did nothing to their Ads. I didn't even look at their Ads on my main site, let alone touch it, although I now believe that it was due to less traffic on my other site. But if that is the reason, then their practices are not fair. Why not just suspend the ads from running on the site that doesn't generate that much traffic? I did everything I can to prove to them that I did not violate their TOS to no avail. What an injustice.
