I've Got a DCMA Warning, but Why??

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by hohohihi, Sep 28, 2009.

Recently one of my blog who got adsense published got a DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) warning through my google account. They said one of my post had some copyrighted material and I should removed it or my account can be banned.

The problem is I don't know which words or images that violated this DMCA, and they didn't mention it either on their warning. They only included my URL which contains that post. So how can I fix my post?

I don't mind to delete this one post, but if I don't know the exact reason I'm worrying that this might happen again in the future.

So,anybody know how I can check what's wrong with my post regarding to this DMCA warning?

The only thing you can do is delete all the article and image that not belong to you.
Or remove adsense ads from this site

Strange. I've seen Google DMCAs and they've always contained the specific problem. Strange that your's doesn't.

My money is the complaint concerns an image. That's a guess but seems like most of the ones I've seen are such. Did you create the images?

Safest thing you can do is delete the post in question. You can try asking Google about the issue, especially since they don't say what the specific issue is.

    Counter claim form letter: http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Terrorism/form-letter.html

    I'd go with this point:

Of course who ever responds from Google could just say the heck with it can ban your adsense account. Just something to think about.

Is the post belongs to you? If not, do you have permission to publish the post?
DMCA related to copyrights and if the content are yours then you should have nothing to be afraid of. BUT, if the contents are inspired by others or you don't have permission to publish the post then you will be in a big trouble.

It's probably easier just to delete it. If it is really a big issue ask for some clarification after you have done it.

Just delete the offending post or rewrite so that it passes Copyscape.

Rewrite the post to avoid any future problems with your AdSense account (and change any images that might violate copyright rules). I've heard that Google DMCA's are normally quite specific, you should write to them to get more information.

Hope you work things out, good luck.

    1) What if the concern is about one of the images?

    2) Considering the actual post is know known and being watched by the other party, I highly doubt that will work.

I'm puzzled that you are puzzled.

Do you have explicit permission to use all the images on your post? If not, remove them.

Did you copy the text of the post from somewhere? If you did, remove that text until you can rewrite it entirely in your own words.

Is there content that you posted that was created by someone else? Did that content creator give you explicit permission to use that content? If not, take it down.

If all of the text and images on your post are original, then you can file a DMCA counternotice.

Just delete the post that's including the copyrighted material and you'll be fine.
