My site ranked in the top 10 of google for many days, and today I was tweaking it to try to get it up in the rankings..

I decided to list the 5 keywords at the very top of my page.

And I let this sit for a few hours.

And when I came back, I was completely off the page with one phrase.

Hours later, I was completely off of the SERP and now I can't find myself in google, besides one of my PAGES (not my main page) that got indexed. ITs several pages in.

So my main page has gone missing. What happened?

    Is google punishing me?

Check the results from multiple datacenters seochat.com/seo-tools/multiple-datacenter-google-search and if your site is not in all datacenters, then you have a problem.

It could be simply a Google dance.

Kulinar! You're great! Thanks. I do see that I am on SOME data centers in the top 10. So what exactly does this mean?

Add your website to Google Webmaster Tool:

    https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/siteoverview?pli=1

Then you can see which one of your words are indexed on google (keep in mind it's not 100% accurate).

Listing your top ranking keywords on the top of your webpage is not a good way to boost your search engine rankings.

If you are sandboxed you will see no pages of your site in google index, even in supplemental results. Check in Google site:yoursite.com. Do not forget to do it in multiple DCs.

They are not the same thing. Google sandbox is a tool for fighting SPAM.

Supplemental results are pages that are indexed but kept in a second (quality) index. Due to great amount of pages Google maintains two indexes - normal and supplemental. If there are no or very few results in the first index for a keyword search, Google returns results from supplemental.
