The majority of those PR domain ebay sales are fake, I looked into several just for the hell of it months back, reported it to ebay, told off all the sellers, no one seems to care, it continues. He gave you a refund to avoid a negative feedback from you. Probably figured you'd never find out it's fake.
Collen, I already gave him +feedback. I filed a complaint with paypal, but I knew they would not refund my money. I think I just got lucky. I look at the other sellers and they are starting to get hit with negatives. I'm sure they just start a new account when the -FB gets too high. but, your right it will just continue... here is his email: Refund already issue, please check. Thank you for your advice, I sold many domains PR5,6 only 2 ask for refund (including you), people buying domain for different purposes, I am only doing buy and sell but never use them or doing anything as you mention, the only thing I will do is when my customer brought it and ask for refund, I will do it. Thanks for your time and hope will do business in the future if you find my domain that you think is good for you!
Beware of eBay on PR domains.I see 2 men, one has 124 sell and other has 213 sell.Have stars etc.But they do faking.I report themn but nothing happens
99% are fake on Ebay. I use http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html to check value. It is very sensitive and work well. Last I saw a real one was a PR5, sold for $61... Everything else is forged...
I used to purchase quite a few domains off of ebay, but lately it seems like they are all fake. Even some here on DP are fake. Be careful and check out the domains before you purchase on a site like smartpagerank.com to make sure they are valid first.
Buying domains from webmaster forums is much safer because the seller usually have a record of previous trades (thanks to iTrader system) and thus you can distinguish between the good and the bad seller well, we live and learn
Exactly when you see an auction, you find many people discussing it if it smells fishy with all those minds confronting the scammer - there is a little chance of the scam to be completed successfully
ebay sellers allways use seochat.com to check the pagerank. seochat shows the page rank, but does nor show its fake or valid. my opinion is to try the PR from Trusted PR checkers and also check backlinks. thatway u never got in to a troble. and also if the domain is very good brandable domain, i dont check its pr for fake or Valid. only think about the name.
Get this!!! I sent a message to an Ebay member saying his pr6 link is fake pr and I gave him the link to show him. This is his reply: "We have found out that this PR is fake. Hence we have changed the description accordingly. Thanks" and this is the change he made in the auction: "The PR is not genuine Hence buy this only for the value of the domain name, and it's prepaid Reg. fees No Reserve auction" I thought "Hmmm....that's nice of him to do that" LOL...here's the link to that auction. Have a look at the first line......LOL Col
