    Hello all,

My name is Jonathan Bowman, and I am a director of a multilingual marketing company in the UK.

We create international web sites in all the major languages, and can help with promotion, international marketing and global business strategies. We help companies to get into the far East, EU and Eastern European markets.

Glad to be here on the forum, and if I can offer any advice or help please feel free to ask.

I am sure that I will be asking you plenty of questions in the future :)

    Hi JB,

Is business good for translating websites? What languages are the most important?

    Cheers, p.

    Thanks all.

I am not specifically an SEO expert, but we needed to get an understanding of the whole SEO industry in order to put together sites for foreign search engines.

The main languages we tend to get asked for are French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian and Italian.

You have to look at each language section differently to get the best returns, but we can usually generate a sizeable increase in visitor numbers by offering sites in the language of the user.

It is worth noting that only 29% of the internet is now searched in English.

    Hey JB,

That's interesting to hear that the language balance is being redressed. Will this mean that the net will become split by language differences? I can imagine that only the really big sites will offer a choice of languages.

    Cheers, p.
