Are you really that completely stupid? This does not mean that force is never authorized. We were authorized by the U.N. in the Korean War and we were authorized by the U.N. in the Iraq War. Neither of these authorizations was necessary because, this paragraph notwithstanding, soveriegn states have the right to make war as they deem necessary. No nation has given up its sovereignty to the United Nations. My God -- don't they have at least elementary schools in Canada?
It is war, people die in war. It's a sacrifice for the greater good. If we didn't go to war just because people would die, we would still be enslaved by England to this die... You have to sometimes look at the bigger picture, sure people died, but look how many lives are saved now that Saddam can no longer test on his own people or murder them for being against his regime.. He killed hundreds of thousands of people during his reign... we have killed 10-20 thousands maybe... I think he's done far more damage and was far more dangerous to the general public than we will ever be. And to think, now future generations of WOMEN... will be able to grow up and not be servants to their husbands... Or was it okay that everyone lived in fear and people died, as long as it wasn't at our hands? If you are going justify us not going to war to save lives, then maybe you should consider that more were being lost by the regime in charge, than by us in the war.. War is war, people die, but you can't ignore that more died before the war ever began.
I've read the passages that justify the actions we have seen, the attacks on Jews and Americans. And I have read the part where the ultimate plan is being revealed, which is world domination by the sword. You'll be given a choice: conform to their "peaceful and loving" religion or be killed. The Quaran is full of hatred. There are passages of love I guess, but they only apply to Muslims ... You will lose all freedom of individually or choice.
USA foreign policy and domestic policy differ sooooooo much. It probably has one of the best domestic policies in the world, however, the foreign policy makes up for it by having so many countries hate us. Oo
CIA Death Squad Timeline CIA set up Ansesal and other networks of terror in El Salvador, Guatemala (Ansegat) and pre-Sandinista Nicaragua (Ansenic). The CIA created, structured and trained secret police in South Korea, Iran, Chile and Uruguay, and elsewhere - organizations responsible for untold thousands of tortures, disappearances, and deaths. Spark, 4/1985, pp. 2-4 1953-94 Sponsorship by CIA of death squad activity covered in summary form. Notes that in Haiti CIA admitted Lt. General Raoul Cedras and other high-ranking officials "were" on its payroll and are helping organize violent repression in Haiti. Luis Moreno, an employee of State Department, has bragged he helped Colombian army create a database of subversives, terrorists and drug dealers." His superior in overseeing INS for Southeastern U.S., is Gunther Wagner, former Nazi soldier and a key member of now-defunct Office of Public Safety (OPS), an AID project which helped train counterinsurgents and terrorism in dozens of countries. Wagner worked in Vietnam as part of Operation Phoenix and in Nicaragua where he helped train National Guard. Article also details massacres in Indonesia. Haiti Information, 4/23/1994, pp. 3,4 Some famous graduates of school of America: Former Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega, now serving an extended sentence in a U.S. prison on drug charges. El Salvador's Roberto D'Aubuisson, who formed the death squads that killed Romero and thousands of others during the Salvadoran civil war. Former Argentine President Gen. Leopoldo Galtieri, accused of making thousands of people "disappear" during Argentina's "dirty war" of the 1970s. How are these people any different than Saddam, except being on CIA payroll?
Sure they hate us. That doesn't mean the hatred is justified. We need to be above that sort of thinking and do what is right, not what is popular. It comes with the responsibility of being the most powerful nation in the world. Just like some of the teachers you didn't like as a kid ... some of them you start respecting as you grow older. And where were those countries before we helped them out. The Europeans have histories of killing each others and Jews over nothing. Who are the French, Germans and all the other "righteous nations" to talk badly about us? Seriously, those 2 nations are garbage. I'm very happy we have an Administration that doesn't feed into their game.
Correction, The UN was still investigating while usa attacked, that is why they had to leave early. unless of course you can prove me wrong, which im not holding my breath for based on past experience. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3661134.stm Yup, very smart there will.
How is he killing the opposition to his regime, any different than you killing people who oppose American occupation? Saddam killing the opposition is bad- Americans killing the opposition is good.
There is a good saying in spanish that says something like you can only hate something that you really love.
Correction, the U.N. had authorized the use of force and then continued to "investigate" -- if you can call what they did "investigating."
hehe I think the fact that the whole world becomes more like America proves that to some extent. Unfortunately the Germans, French and others are so jealous and pathetic, they can't distance themselves from their own childish hangups. And as long as they are doing well, they won't life a finger for anyone. I'm sorry, but I believe in being loyal to israel. If you guys hate jews or just don't give a shit, that's on you. Some things are more important than money or popularity. I'm blessed to be in the US. I recognize it. Many of you don't. Go spend a few years overseas and see how live sucks over there.
And even better, we have seen regime change in Germany and we are soon to see a regime change in France.
This is a surprise to you? You are more of an idiot than I ever expected. Kofi Annan's statement directly contradicts the facts. If that isn't a "lie", then I do not know what is.
God.. You are honestly a moron... I dont know how you can even continue arguing about something that is obviously way out of your league. again you show nothing no facts nothing.. keep em coming though, its getting kinda fun to prove you wrong over and over and over and hear your childish responses about it. Hey everyone General Kofi Annan is now an american hating liar!
Why is it necessary to call names? Prove him wrong if you can. (rhethorical request. His statements are correct. Be big enough to admit it. There's nothing shameful in being misguided, but whether we are open-minded enough to learn, that is the key. Some have been taught wrong along the way. It's whether we insist on remaining ignorant or are willing to evolve, that's what makes the difference here )
Noreallywaldo--- Did you see the results of the poll of US Soldiers from between Jan 18 and Feb 14? From Stars and Stripes... "that only 23 percent of servicemembers thought U.S. forces should stay “as long as they are needed." Of the 72 percent, 22 percent said troops should leave within the next six months, and 29 percent said they should withdraw “immediately.†Twenty-one percent said the U.S. military presence should end within a year; 5 percent weren’t sure." http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=34538&archive=true "One surprising finding in the poll is that 85 percent of those surveyed believe that the US's main mission in Iraq is to retaliate against Saddam Hussein for his role in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks." http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0301/dailyUpdate.html
The United States was authorized to use force by U.N. resolution 678. As Saddam Hussein failed to comply with Resolution 687, resolution 678 remained in force. Furthermore, this failure is documented in Resolution 1441. Kofi Annan conveniently forgot all of these resolutions in a brash attempt to influence U.S. elections and force the election of an American President who would be more subservient to the demands of the U.N. He failed. Nonetheless, all of these resolutions are irrelevant. The United States has not given up its sovereignty to the United Nations.
Since so many believe we had no right to go into Iraq: If you have a criminal who repeatedly violates parole ... will you just let him remain free and suffer no consequences?
