I being military myself and serving in Iraq on MORE than one occassion have seen just how glad the Iraqis are that we are there, they understand that we are helping them. The problem is that the liberal media presents only the bad and they only show the small sections of the population that truly hate us and I would say that's only about 5-10%... because most of the time, people will come up and thank us... not because they have to, but because they want to... sure I'm scared as fuck they are going to suicide bomb my ass... but they are sincere about it. So before you go saying WHAT YOU THINK or WHAT YOU HEARD... how about you learn the facts. If you want to see something about Iraq and why we needed to be there, look up DEPLETED URANIUM BABIES... they are all over Iraq when Saddam was in power, he tested on pregnant women and children... Those attrocities cannot be ignored... sure oil might have pushed us into the bucket... but it's the other shit that makes it justified... And we wouldn't need their oil if we drilled in Alaska... we have proven that the Caribou herds have INCREASED in size since they first started drilling in Alaska... I live in Alaska.. I have seen the oil rigs... and I'm totally for it, but for some reason, congress is the hold up for some reason... lets get this through and then oil will never be a debate again... As for us being disrespected, we were disrespected far before Bush came into office... it's not a new thing, he's just the scapegoat. I'm not a Bush fan, but I also know that you can't blame all of our problems on him, because most of these problems existed prior to him... blame him for something he actually did.. the war, sure you can blame him for that.. but why? Soldiers are proud to be there.. most want to be there.. we signed up for this, if we didn't want to be there or didn't care, then we wouldn't reenlist or enlist in the first place. I'm tired of people saying, "oh but our troops this or our troops that"... how about instead saying, "Way to go troops" and try showing a little bit of respect for those that died, not spitting on their graves by disrespecting the cause they gave their lives for. Sure most people disagree with it... but we are there, and we have to stay until it's stabilized, and right now it is not... so why don't we all just be supportive of the troops, rathering than trying to remove them prematurely, which would allow a civil war to break out, making it EVEN MORE DANGEROUS when we have to go in and clean it all up over again...
My point is, you are using what saddam has done to justify more mass murder and the mistakes this administration is so blatantly and obviously making. What about the long term consequences, it might feel nice now watching them die, but what about 10 years in the future? The war is (hopefully) over and now america has to recover, who will be paying for it?
