It's because Adsense paid me variable CPC for same URL $0.29 - $0.03 .So i think it's better to leave CF blank. What is your experience about it?
If you want to maximize your revenue, don't filter ads (less ads for Google to deliver to your site). Google only makes money when you do, so they want you to make more money.
is it right statment ...? if already targetted then what offtopic ads are doing there I was pointing towards variability of CPC what Google pays for same ad.
I block only ads which I think are poor performers and they are doing a "targeted campaign". I notice when my eCPM rate drops that this is going on and I drop those ads I suspect are not good performers based on my audience and my eCPM returns to normal. So, a flat out "don't filter" ads is not really good advice.
I agree. Does anyone think that I should not remove this advertiers? 0disease.com 1shoppingcart.com 1stoplegal.com 2005deals.com 911-legalhelp.com 911healthshop.com advertopedia.com allmortgageneedz.com LOL allnetworkservicesonline.info asbestoscrisis.com aspiringgeek.com attorney.net bambooweb.com bankrate.com bankruptcyhelponline.org bayareamortgagefinders.com Additionally, I dont know how half of them apear on my sites! It is just part of 8 pages list that I see on my pages. Beter blank ad field than those advertisers.
shawn, perhaps you aren't aware that certain computing websites are currently being overrun with adsense garbage url's... check out the filter list that i have developed in just the last couple of weeks... some of us actually do care about the links that google puts up on our sites. we need to ban garbage like this, and complain to adsense tech support... if you aren't seeing this trash yet, it's just because google hasn't started putting it in your sector, but they soon will... i have non-computing websites that so far don't have these ads: allfreegifts.net amazingfreeoffers.com believeinmiracles.net belikable.com everyfreegift.com ezmp3s.com findanymovie.com free-success-kit.info freedownloadhq.com freedownloadzone.com freegiftworld.com freemovienow.com homeremodelling.com imusicsearch.com ineed2know.org lovefreegames.com my-free-music.com paidsurveysonline.com phentriminerx.com receptacles.com rewardsgateway.com plexxa.com tsunami-alarm-system.com unlimited-mp3s.in-my-cart.com unlimitedsoftware2download.com
I totally agree with danimal! I run a graphics tutorial website and I'm still trying to figure out how/why Betty Croker or womens clothing ads just to name a few are appearing on my site! Google's recent "throw the scraps to the little guys" is less than acceptable! If they no longer feel my website is "good enough" to keep on track targeting, at least have the curtousy to say so. I've email Adsense support twice now concerning this issue and have yet to recieve a response. I know their busy, but so am I!
Basically my advice is don't use the competitive ad filter unless the ads are actually competitive (ie you're running adsense on a page selling a product and the ads are for other places selling the product). For MSA sites this probably doesn't apply. When you get weird ads showing, use the Google markup to exclude the words related to the weird ads to stop them showing rather than targetting the sites specifically.
that problem with that, forkqueue, is that some adwords advertisers deliberately target the same keywords that drive legitimate adsense ads... so you'd have to exclude virtually all of your content, which would eliminate the good ads along with the bad ads. we are talking about adwords advertisers who use keywords to deliberately lie about the content of their websites, just to drive traffic... it's google's job to get that trash out of the adsense program, just like they have been trying to clean up google.com search results. unless your niche gets hit with this adsense spam garbage, like some of us in the computing sector have been hit, you'll never understand.
i just had the following adsense ad show up on my computer website... the title of the ad was: "FREE EBAY SUCCESS KIT" how i make $470,000/yr on ebay get your free kit - today only! free-auction-cash-kit.com would someone please explain why adwords is sending that trash to a computer-related website that has no mention of ebay on it?
Totally agree with that. Sometimes advertisers don't have a clue about how to setup an adwords campaign and target keywords that don't really have anything to do with your site. I've seen Spanish ads on an English site of mine... on another one related to images (icons) I started getting all king of ads for greek statues. Those are the kind of ads you need to filter out. But filtering them trying to avoid smart pricing or to increase your earnings is just stupid and will only hurt you.
the only sites i've filtered were religious ones that were showing in my board, that was like a year ago.
EBAY.COM IS FILTERED FROM MY SITE.. NO ONE WILL CLICK ON THEM FOR WHAT I DO.. i DID A SEARCH FOR SAND DUNES ONCE, AND THEY CAME UP IN AWORDS, SO i SEARCHED FOR ICEBURGS, AND EBAY IS SELLING THOSE TOO. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.
There is one confusion is in my mind. there are websites like infoscouts.com aworldofinformation.com you can see these are full crap sites. So for sure seeing there business model it is pretty clear that they will not be paying $0.10+ for bringing visitor. But on the same ad block ads appear which pay $0.30 + Then why Google displays ads of these crap websites on the adblocks which are worth $0.10-.
I completely agree with Shawn on this one. If you block ads, only ads that pay even less will appear in its place. Google wants to make money, and it will display the highest paying ad available for that page. I have only a handful of ads blocked on my site - most of them are my own sites I also advertise with AdWords with, since I don't really need to pay for ads to run on a site the visitor is already visiting And I have a couple direct competitors... but even then, I allow most my competitors to advertise on my sites if they are so inclined And I have two ads that were targeted to the market but just not for one of my gender-specific target market... the same page targeting men, and the ads would have been perfect.
I have ebay blocked (seeing as they are selling the whole dictionary)...is there actually anyone paying lower?
i take it that you aren't getting the same adsense spam that we are? have you ever had this ad show up before on your sites: "FREE EBAY SUCCESS KIT" how i make $470,000/yr on ebay get your free kit - today only! free-auction-cash-kit.com
