Last night was family night with my girlfriend and her three kids and they all decided they wanted to watch the live version of 'Charlotte's web '. Now I had seen the cartoon version of this movie several times as a child so I knew how it was going to end even if they didn't, but still; the part where Charlotte is about to pass away and her and Wilbur are saying their goodbyes was positively heart-wrenching. My girlfriend and her daughter were all teary-eyed. The two boys sat in a remorseful silence, (the first time I had ever seen them sit still for more than a few minutes). Even I felt a little choked up and I'm a grown man. And all this over a CGI spider and some talking farm animals. So if you have kids and are looking for a good family friendly movie to watch with them, I highly recommend renting 'Charlotte's Web'. You and your children won't be dissapointed.
That movie and Old Yellar can do it to me every time. (Shhh do not tell anyone) Anyways I do not think it is the cgi spider and talking animals that does it. I think it is the situation and we can all identify with it. Shawn
