I thought today was a bit ironic.

Here in the UK, today was Guy Fawkes Day, the day when the whole country celebrates by letting off fireworks everywhere, in memory of the greatest ever 'terrorist' plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament and at the same time, the first African / American President gets voted into office!

You can just imagine some Americans flying over England this evening on their final approaches to some of the major airports here, noses pressed up against the windows of the 747's, looking down and seeing thousands of fireworks being let off way below, I wonder if the thought that crossed a few of their minds was something like this, "Gee whiz! I just lurve Engelanddd already, look at them all celebrating the new President of the United States, bless them all" - not knowing of course that the celebrations were in fact going on in memory for the daring act long ago, to blow up the political centre of the country! :D

    It's a strange world. :D
