There has been this large google banner ad on my site about itching haha

It's pretty aweful, with text and pictures of peoples Rashes geeez

I guess the add apeared because of somone posint a question about "dog itching" or something.

But man if my first visity to my site involed an advertisment on how to relieve itching....well i would leave pretty fast

It might still be apear Here lol

Any of you every get just plain horrible ads like this?

log in to your adsense acct. ad settings tab-> Competitive Ad Filter link and enter the url advertised by that itching ad in the space provided. it takes a couple of hours to take effect and the ads blocked won't show up anymore. you can have up to 200 urls blocked

Heh...I don't see them, but I do worry about this since people in e.g. Canada probably see different ads than what I see on my site.

Web Rover - You submitted an article (Dog Stew) on dog meat being used in other countries and that page now has ads for restaurants. ;)

What is better (or worse I suppose) is that 3 of the ads are for Korean restaurants

For the longest time my Mum´s site used to get gazillions of visits from people doing a search for toenail fungus. I think everybody on the planet who´d ever had suppurating piggies had visited her site. (eeew!) Never could figure out why because she never mentioned it once on her site. Of course the AS return on tnf was nothing to write home about so we´re glad the tnf wave seems to have died its own smelly death.

(Not to say that if any DP´ers have toe nail fungus that you are bad or smelly people and would not be welcome to visit anytime. Oh no!)

Sorry for the double post (oh go on then, red rep me if you must), Web-rover, look at the ads up top. Heh Heh. I get a before and after of a very itchy and scabby looking baby. Won´t that be fun on your site if you have images enabled!

yes, I see that one too - yuck.
There seem to be more and more banner types ads being served at the mo.
I saw a very good one for linking on my directory earlier today - it was that good I nearly clicked on it. Then I remembered it was mysite

You could go into your Adsense settings and choose text only ads. That would get rid of it.

    Hi,
Long time visitor, first time poster :) great forum guys... (and galls)

Well my site is a personality test where you draw a pig, and though most of the ads are for other personality tests there are sometimes blocks of ads for pig semen & pig slaughtering :| I know google lets you say which sites you want to block from advertising on your site (competitive filter) could you not add this to that list?
