Italy pulled its last remaining troops out of Iraq on Friday, lowering the tricolor flag at its base in the south of a country where 32 of its soldiers have died since the contingent arrived in June 2003.

Expect political rhetoric now to 'crank up' from the Italians against the forces that are still in Iraq

There is no 44 troops left. They are all gone, anyone with half a brain knows that this war is lost and is leaving.

It seems only one person is still staying the course.

Yes, it is time for the US to hunt terrorists finally, instead of embargoed Iraqis families...
Heavily supporting the troops, not W.

    Very true.

    Get this excellent article:

    http://www.teamliberty.net/id321.html

It sums up pefectly what an unwinnable "war" it all is for the coalition forces involved in this absolute disaster.

With how young Italy is as a country, (only about 50-60 years as a republic, and less than 150 years as a solidified nation), their financial straits, and the political factions arguing for separation, as well as the other problems the country has, I don't really blame them for pulling out.
