If you get enough questions then i would open up a questions and answers blog to go with your forum. It wont hurt and can only help. :)

I'll be honest with you danielldf. I ran a forum for about a year and I had many registrants (7,000) and posts (thousands). But the only thing, 98% of those registrants were spammers and most were posting porn, gambling, pills and Nigerian type scams. The forum is a good idea if you have the time and manpower, but it really needs to be moderated frequently; otherwise, the spammers will scare off your well-intentioned posters. Just my 2Cents

    Aaron,

That's how I started my UNIX blog...a few questions were being constantly asked of me and then I decided to blog about it. It has evolved, somewhat, from the original Q&A format but that was the impetus.

a forum increases your community, people will get more dedicated... Your choice as it will need to be moderated and so on, it's extra work, but in my opinion, do it!

i c you have 2-3k traffic per day. here's the thing you need to consider:

how many of them ask questions or post comments?
how many of them are retuwn visitor?

if you have enough comments/questions and have a lot of return visitors, then starting a forum would not be a bad idea
