I've spent the last two weeks posting, only now and again, on no follow blogs with a website of mine as the URL entry. I haven't posted or linked from anywhere else apart from these few blogs and I have registered backlinks in Bing and Yahoo (plus derivatives like alltheweb and altavista) but nothing in Google. Not sure why I'm posting this, I guess it's just interesting that the backlinks go up and up in all the search engines apart from Google if you strictly only post in no follow blogs, although I'm guessing even Google will sneak a peak sooner or later. Anyways, I'm going to experiment see how many links I can get in Yahoo and Bing before any show up in Google.
If you mean that you've checked your website in Google using the LINKOMAIN.TLD then you properly wont see fresh results as Google doesn't update this list that quick.. just wait for a week or so and you will start to find new records.
Google takes some time before it starts updating the linked domain results, so I guess you will find results by waiting for some time and then checking again.
Well if I linked to it from my other sites, or even put a link in here, it would show up in Google today. That's not the point of the exercise though.
strange...yahoo say they DO respect the nofollow attrtibute http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/search/webcrawler/slurp-12.html;_ylt=Aqxr8lZ1j2VeKyY0QENmSXuygiN4
It's not strange, no follow is to not pass on rage ranks. It doesn't actually stop search engines from following the links. Even so I think Yahoo! has always followed them normally despite what they say. I think I've gone and botched my own experiment today though by accidentally posting in a non-no follow blog. I might have to start again with a new website.
Google does follow no-follow links, but don't show them in link:domain operator. If you check GWT, you can see the some of your no-follow links and actual number of backlinks indexed by Google.
