It isn't that tough to get your Website to be submitted to DMOZ.

After months of frustration my website submission has finally been approved by the DMOZ editorial team and has been put in the respective category. It took 8 months to get the nod ,since it was a free subscription.I had already given up hope and when I asked members from various forums they came up with 2 options a)DMOZ is no longer important and 2)Bribe the editor.Well I didn't believe the first and neither did I try the second one.So people who still have their website waiting for approval in the cue don't get dis heartened just submit it to the most relevant category .Incase your website has 10 keywords and you optimize your website properly for all of them, then try submitting it to the category that has the minimum amount of approvals pending. That will surely help.I did that and was successful.

Attempting to bribe an editor will get a site banned permanantly and if an editor takes or solicits a bribe they are banned permanantly too. Anyone who believes that an editor has behaved in this way should report the matter and it will be thoroughly investigated. That does mean that some proof needs to be offered.

Which lead us to "nobody has proof enough so the corruption goes on..." ;)

Exactly what type of proof is needed? It's NOT proof that sites are paid listings by showing COMPLETED transactions with POSITIVE feedback on sites like Scriptlance, so please...exactly what proof is needed?

You are right... filling out the form after clicking the submit url link is all it could potentially take... but you have to keep in mind, that many editors do not bother with the suggestion pool (and it's NOT a queue, lol, even though the guidelines say it is  ) so there is an equal chance of getting listed by simply NOT bothering to submit at all.

Congrats on your listing though, but you have NO clue if it was accepted based on you submitting it, or if it was simply found on google by some random editor with access to your category....and now that it's there, you have no clue if it'll be gone tomorrow! So keep on promoting your site through other means.

what happens with editors and supervisors who allow to add spam sites then on the directory , sites witch don't follow any of the rules from the guidelines :D and what proofs need more than existence of the sites in the directory, free whois history of the domains where is showing clear the owner wasn't changed never , cache from wayback machine and google :) ....

    Attempting???
So, what you are saying that you just don't know if editors taking bribes and if something like that ever happened.

I doubt person who bought editor will step forward and announce illegal transaction, at least of course if he is happened to be the biggest jackass who's ever born.

Here goes your prove it argument.

    :D

Gee, eight months... that would be what I'd call a long time to wait, weren't it for the fact that some people are still waiting after twice that time, and that we're talking about DMOZ. It depends a lot on the categories and the editor.

Now, getting your site up in a week is definitely impressive. That's just blind luck :)
