It is rare to have a Google PageRank 5 for a 2 page website?

I recently noticed 2 of my websites have a Google PageRank 5 and one of the sites only has 2 pages.

Is it rare or uncommon to have a Google PageRank 5 for a very small 2 page website?

I think it is rare, but if you have strong backlink it can be done, I guess.

PageRank (as the name suggests) is related to individual page. So even one page site may have PR 5. From point of possibility its possible.

Its not rare. While having a bigger site with lots of content and proper interlinking would have probably scored you a high 5 or a 6, it's definitely not uncommon. I have a site thats in AJAX that is a PR5 (and google sees that as one page).

yes, I know it is possible now, but I just thought was more common for larger sites to get a higher PageRank.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that both pages on this site have a PageRank 5

Pagerank is solely based on back links; now, due to pagerank distribution it's conceivable that a larger website with lots of web pages "properly" inter-linked would have a hard time raising their pagerank; however with proper backlink building to inner pages and not just the homepage would most likely prevent that problem.
