I know that .ORG TLD are designed only for no commercial site, but I want to buy .org domain since the .com is premium domain so I go for .org but then I want to monetize this site. It is ok to do what I have in my mind? or I will break some ICANN rules etc... Thank you for your response.
No, it's not ok because . Orgs should be for websites with non-profit organization and not for commercial to make money with it. It's an offense to the free open-source community and it's against the GNU foundation. If you want to make money with it, get another extention.
is there a chance that adsense and other advertising company will suspend my account? if I place ads in my .org site? thank you very much
pretty sure there are no rules on .org Craigslist makes loads of money If you can buy the .com go for that though, I'm not sure what the GNU foundation is but Google doesn't penalize .org that are monetized and nobody will come after you
It was supposed that ORG domains should not display advertising but nobody really paid attention to such rule, or perhaps in the early days, but now people monetize, and sometimes the tricky way, using ORG domains.
There is absolutely no problem putting adsense on a .org - none. There is no requirement that a .org site be an organization, non-profit or non-commercial. That is total bs.
thank you . thank you very much on you guys. God bless!!. you helped me lot in this decision making. ^_^
I dont know where you get you facts but you might wont to double check them. I think that the OP is asking if there is any legal issues, and as far as I know there isn't. If there is im stuffed to because I have quite a few .org domains with ads on them. If you meant its not morally right to put ads on a TLD that stands for organisation, then thats your opinion.
Nobody really thinks these days about free stuff when they see a .org domain. Most of people just register .org because .com or .net are taken. Same with .com, it doesn't have to be commercial. It's just the most common domain extension. Seen many free games/software have a .com site.
