Ok guys, two threads on this subject.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=97090

    and my own

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=104256

And you'd think that there was enough buzz around the forums, blogs and laundry lists out there huh?

    Nope, check this out.

    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGGL_enUS177US177&q=site:wd31.com

I wast just checking one my backlinks, and then checking some of THEIR backlinks, when I come up with this.

You watch, by Wednesday, they'll have over a million pages crawled, and some poor schmuck who's been fighting for 6th or 7th place for a small keyword is gonna get hammered by this spamming bastard.

I believe wholeheartedly in "do no evil" in the Goog's webmaster guidlines, in the end, they will catch up to this kind of stuff. In the meantime, who knows how much money this/these guys are making?

    DAMN!

Gee I wish I know how to get that many pages indexed and cached within few months. I've been waiting for months to even get listed on google.

I don't really want to learn how to spam. It's not in my nature.

But it's still frustrating when you depend on the Goog to be fair, and they PROMISE that the alg is fair, according to the guidelines, but then this stuff happens. How is this fair.

Now, on some strange, small level, I kind of respect this guy's guts and criminal intent. We are all trying to make a buck, and he/she/it/they find a loophole and go for it. But it's not making an HONEST buck, and that kills me.

And again, the Goog swears up and down that their alg WORKS. That paid advertising is not the same as "voting"

You ever do a search for any retail, find a website, check their backlinks, and find that these guys have paid big money for text ads on big PR sites? And that is what the Goog thinks is a vote?

Going off on a general rant about the Goog. Sorry. It's just...

It's not tricking the Google algo that is the point. It's the point that Google requires that we adhere to some pretty strict rules, and has some very explicit requirements in to gain PR, and then,

    BLAMO.

There rules go out the door.

Here is a site that not only spams, but redirects as well, using a bot mask.

    Not cool.

something serious is going wrong with google search, when this happened for the first time we all can understand that there was some bug, but now its happening for the second time, then for third time, i don't know why google guys are not patching the system, i know its not easy but then they GOOGLE, and we don't expect anything less from them.

Google is probably busy making GBuy so they probably forgot to clean up their original product.

Don't want to get involved in spam, just frustrated when things like this happens.

I'm wondering. If I. or anyone else hadn't noticed it, would it have been caught?
