I have been running CJ on several sites for about 2 years now off and on. I have seen a half a million impressions on occasions with no profit. What is the trick? Or maybe they just suck? 2 years and not a penny . Thank you for letting me vent.
You can't just put banners up & expect people to buy. Make sure that the products or services that you're advertising are targeted well towards your content & visitors. It also helps to integrate text links into your content.
I know it can be frustrating, but it's not that CJ sucks. I've been with CJ for less than a month and have already amassed almost $4000 in commissions with one advertiser. You just have to keep trying. I hit $374 for just yesterday. Once you find an offer that is working for you, you can really squeeze it for all it's worth. My first profitable day with this advertiser was about $43 or so, and it has steadily gone up almost every day since. Just don't give up hope because it is worth the hard work.
What is important is the audience of your traffic and how your approaching them with the products/services your offering them. The layout and design and how the information is displayed is very important.
same happening to me, I am doing PPC ads with some programs, but no way to get a lead. Sometimes I think all commissions are being taken by Zango. @bdunndchi, maybe you found smth that Zango isn't an affiliate of
1. Zango isn't an affiliate in CJ, and hasn't been for a long time (since mid-2005, when they were 180solutions). 2. I work with a number of affiliate programs (on the merchant's side) in CJ. I can tell you for a fact that software is NOT stealing your commissions. It's against CJ's terms of service & merchants won't stand for that. 3. Even if software was stealing commissions, can you really make the argument that 100% of people who come from your site have commission-stealing software? I'm also a large affiliate in CJ - if software was stealing commissions, I definitely wouldn't be making what I am right now.
I am offering everything from tickets to gear on that site. Maybe the ads just aren't appealing? CJ don't have much of a selection for that niche as well. I will try something else I guess.
I guess there are some basic reasons why affiliate ads don't convert, maybe someone could add to this list: the visitors, no matter how numerous, are not targeted to the products advertised (if they are interested in tickets for clothing then no amount of concert ticket ads will interest them) the ads are not integrated with the content in a way that prompts visitors to buy visitors are BLIND to the ads (banner ads are particularly ineffective, people like to click on HYPERLINKS) the visitor demographic does not have buying power (e.g. young kids) your content is TOO darn' interesting, visitors are ignoring the ads! You are right though, it doesn't add up - with that much traffic, SOME sales should be happening, even by accident! You have checked the code etc I hope? Impressions are registering? Any other crazy explanations??!
I have never had any luck with banners. Text links with a call to action. Your site does seem to be more of an adsense type site. I see you do have some adsense ads - how are they doing?
